Using it is this easy Step 1 – Preparation: Plug the device into the mains socket. For a manicure: leave the base plate in place. For a pedicure: remove the magnetic base plate so the toenails fit neatly into the tunnel. Step 2 – Select the timer: Choose the timer setting to match the gel type (10 s / 30 s / 60 s / 99 s). The optimum curing time depends on the gel type: thin gel layers (base coat) typically need 10–30 s, normal modelling layers 30–60 s, and thick layers or acrylic 60–99 s. For a very sensitive client we recommend the 99 s anti-heat timer – a longer curing time with reduced heat. What is the anti-heat function? The anti-heat function cures the gel over a longer period (99 s) at reduced LED intensity. This minimises heat build-up – ideal for sensitive clients or thin natural nail plates. The noticeable burning sensation many people know from UV lamps is avoided. Can I use the UVL-54 for pedicures too? Yes. The magnetic base plate is easy to remove so that a foot fits comfortably into the tunnel as well. This makes the UVL-54 a true "all-in" device for both hand and foot modelling. How does the automatic sensor function work? An integrated light barrier detects when the hand or foot is slid into the tunnel and automatically starts the set timer. As soon as the tunnel is empty again, the device switches off. You can also start the timer manually. How durable is the LED technology?
