Product information "Promed Wallgau"

Promed Wallgau – bandage shoe with stretch toe box

The Promed Wallgau bandage shoe is a half-shoe with a stretchable toe box that reliably accommodates your foot after surgery, with dressings or when swollen. It relieves the forefoot in cases of hallux valgus, hammer toes and pressure points, and slips on effortlessly thanks to its extra-wide opening and Velcro fastening. So you stay mobile even while you heal.

Your benefits at a glance

  • Mobile despite a dressing: wearable over dressings, splints, casts and bandages – indoors and out, with at least partial weight-bearing.
  • Stretchable toe box: relieves hallux valgus, hammer toes and pressure points in the forefoot.
  • Easy to put on: Velcro strap with extra-wide opening – with no extra padding needed.
  • Secure step: the neuropathy zone in the forefoot helps prevent a dangerous braking effect during a shuffling gait.
  • Removable insole: can be adjusted or replaced by an orthopaedic specialist.
  • Available on prescription: obtainable as a medical aid via prescription and medical supply store, sizes 36–47, always in pairs.

Areas of use – who is the Wallgau suitable for?

The Promed Wallgau was developed for people who need to temporarily protect and relieve their foot. Particularly suitable for:

  • After surgery and cast dressings: accommodates the foot together with the dressing and enables early mobility.
  • Swollen feet & hammer toes: plenty of volume and a stretchable toe box for pressure-sensitive forefeet.
  • Hallux valgus & pressure points: targeted forefoot relief thanks to the stretch toe box.
  • Wound healing with partial weight-bearing: for post-operative or other, non-open wounds with a longer healing process.

How easy it is to use

  1. Step 1 – choose your size: select size 36–47 according to indication and dressing volume – if in doubt, ask for advice at your medical supply store or orthopaedic practice.
  2. Step 2 – open: fully open the Velcro straps and use the extra-wide opening.
  3. Step 3 – insert the foot: place the foot with its dressing or bandage inside and adjust the straps to the dressing volume.
  4. Step 4 – adjust the insole: if needed, remove the insole or replace it with an adjusted one.
