The Promed TENS/EMS electrode Butterfly (150×95 mm) is a self-adhesive replacement and consumable electrode in a butterfly shape for large-area, anatomical TENS and EMS application with all Promed electrotherapy devices. Thanks to its snap connector (2 mm), it fits the TENS-1000s, EMT-4, EMT-6 and IT-6 as well as many third-party devices with the same connector. The anatomical butterfly shape (15×9.5 cm) fits ideally onto large-area regions such as the lower back or lumbar area. Gentle on the skin, reusable and for personal use. Pack size: 2 pcs.

Areas of use – what is the butterfly electrode suitable for?
The Promed fabric electrodes are the consumable material for TENS and EMS electrostimulation. The electrode is positioned so that the current frames the area to be treated – the large-area butterfly shape covers broad, anatomically shaped regions:
- For TENS pain therapy: consumable material for drug-free TENS application with your Promed electrotherapy device, especially for large-area complaints in the lower back or lumbar area.
- For EMS muscle stimulation: consumable material for EMS application with your Promed device (muscle stimulation and relaxation of tense muscles).
- Large-area, anatomical application: The butterfly shape fits precisely onto large, curved body regions.
- Other shapes: For targeted or smaller areas there are the standard sizes, and for the neck/shoulder region the neck electrode.
How easy it is to use
- Step 1 – Prepare the skin: Clean the area of skin thoroughly and dry it completely – no oil and no lotion.
- Step 2 – Apply the electrode: Peel off the protective film and press the electrode down from the centre outwards.
- Step 3 – Connect & treat: Connect the cable (available separately) to the electrode and the device, switch the device on and increase the intensity slowly.
- Step 4 – After use: Switch the device off, disconnect the cable, peel off the electrode in the direction of hair growth and stick it back onto the protective film. Store cool and dry.

Care and safety information
Please read the instructions for use of your TENS/EMS device carefully before first use.
- Never rinse the electrodes under running water – this destroys the hydrogel. If the adhesion weakens, it is enough to dab a single drop of water onto the adhesive surface. Alternatively, the Promed contact gel (Art. 359910) ensures better adhesion and conductivity.
- Do not place the electrodes over wounds, inflammation or irritated skin.
- Do not use in the area of the heart, larynx, eyes or over metal implants.
- Wearers of pacemakers or other electrical implants may only use TENS/EMS electrodes after consulting a doctor.
- In the case of pregnancy, epilepsy or unexplained pain, consult a doctor before use.
- With sensitive skin, carry out a skin-tolerance test on a small area before first use.
- Use for personal purposes only; after use, stick the electrodes back onto the protective film and store them cool and dry.

Which body regions is the butterfly electrode suitable for?
The large-area butterfly shape (150×95 mm) is particularly suited to large, anatomically shaped regions such as the lower back or lumbar area. For targeted or smaller areas there are the round 32 mm electrodes (Art. 359177), 45×35 mm (Art. 359172), 45×45 mm (Art. 359171) and 45×80 mm (Art. 359178). For the neck/shoulder region, the neck electrode (Art. 359174) is available.
Which devices is the electrode compatible with?
Thanks to the 2 mm snap connector, the electrode fits all Promed electrotherapy devices: the TENS-1000s (Art. 352020), EMT-4 (Art. 352410), EMT-6 (Art. 352420) and IT-6 (Art. 352430). Many third-party devices with a 2 mm snap are also compatible – some third-party devices use a 2.5 mm pin, so check the connector type beforehand. The matching contact cables are available separately.
How often can I reuse the electrode?
Depending on skin type, hair, care and storage, the electrodes typically last for approx. 15–30 applications. Replace the electrodes when the adhesion weakens, when discolouration or cracks appear, or when the gel surface dries out.
How do I clean and store the electrode correctly?
Do not clean the electrodes themselves, but rather the area of skin before each application. Never rinse the adhesive surface under running water – if the adhesion weakens, a single drop of water is enough to refresh it. After use, stick the electrodes back onto the protective film and store them cool and dry.
Can I use the electrode with several people?
No. For hygiene reasons, the fabric electrodes are for personal use and should be used by one person only.
Are cables included in the scope of delivery?
No, the contact cables are available separately – the matching Promed contact cable depending on your device. If the adhesion weakens, we additionally recommend the Promed contact gel (Art. 359910).
